Some people believe that the sole aim of higher education is to make people ready for employment. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Discuss
Primary goal of higher education is to prepare people for work. Nowadays, there is an ongoing debate among people about the main purpose of higher education, which causes numerous controversies. Most of people claim that the university education preparing the individuals for the job. While others reject this notion and argue that the main motive of the education is to only give knowledge. I agree with the former statement because if the young generation of the country will be educated, only then they will be able to get better jobs. This essay will further elaborate it’s both sides and thus will lead to a logical conclusion.
At the outset, there are number of reasons how the university qualification can prepare the students for job and by doing studies individual can learn multiple skills like as, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and presentation skills that can be utilized in the workplace. Moreover, with university projects the students can also gain confidence. Therefore, the university education plays a vital role in making the learner a better employee as well as attaining university education provides a broad spectrum of selection for the students.
Notwithstanding, some people have an opposing view and believe that getting the higher education is a wastage of time because the skills that taught in the university can be gained by doing a job. For instance, the motive of the college education is to provide knowledge written in the books that cannot prepare people to be ready for job and by working in any firm, students can learn many skills. Therefore, instead of doing higher studies individual should apply for the job to get experience or skills.
In view of above-mentioned arguments, one can conclude that the benefits of doing the higher education are indeed too great.
