This image describes two types of solar eclipse – total eclipse and partial eclipse. In total solar eclipse, the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth and casts the darkest part of its shadow, the umbra, on Earth. In partial solar eclipse , the Moon, the Sun and Earth don’t align in a perfectly straight line, and the Moon casts only the outer part of its shadow, the penumbra, on Earth. In conclusion, we can say that this picture gives information of natural phenomenon.
